Travel Destination: New  York for Strawberry Picking

Fishkill Farms

Travel 2 hours by car and reach this 60+ acre of orchards, vegetable plantings, and berry patches, this diversified fruit, and vegetable farm could be said it got it all. During the fall season, it has three greenhouses and grows pumpkins. It is not limited to only just about the produce for this New York strawberry picking spot. Best to visit the farm during weekends as Fishkill farm serves food and beverages. Take a bite on the delightful hamburgers and hot dogs from the apple-wood grill at the farm, plus soft drinks. When in season, it’s best to taste the fresh-pressed cider.

Lawrence Farms Orchards

During hot summer, an hour and a half travel to reach Lawrence Farms and be greeted by this family-owned fruit and vegetable farm. This farm isn’t limited to strawberries as it also grows sweet cherries, sour cherries, apricots, peaches, gooseberries, and other berries throughout the season which both kids and adults will truly adore. For the kids, the farm also has show chickens and goats that hang out nearby and during weekends, the farm offers horse-drawn carriage rides.

Lewin Farms

To reach this gorgeous 110-acre pick-your-own berry farm, travel 2 hours and a half by car and be amazed by the farms offering ripe strawberries in June, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries through August. Depending on the month you visit, there’s also peaches, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, apples, pumpkins, gourds, and even Christmas trees. When visiting during the fall season, try to experience Lewin’s corn maze, which provides a new design over five acres every year.


Ochs Orchard

Come the month of June travel an hour and a half to Ochs Orchard wherein this sweet farm is packed with juicy strawberries just waiting to be picked. This farm has a small petting zoo where kids can meet cute animals like mini goats, donkeys, and ducks. It’s also an Instagram worthy Orchard where your backdrop is an amazing place of gorgeous valley views.  

Patty’s Berries and Bunches

For an excellent strawberry picking, travel 2 hours and a half by car be one with  New Yorkers who flock to Long Island during the summer months. Patty’s Berries and Bunches grows a variety of fruits on its 40 acres land. It’s also a must try for their ice cream patch that serves unique seasonal flavors made from the farm’s fruits.
